Cases and bags

 Your photography cases and bags.

Besides the digital camera, a photography enthusiast will also need a lot of accessories. This includes equipments such as memory card, lens filters, tripods etc. With all this equipment, you will need a professional photo bag in order to protect them. One such camera bag is the canvas camera bag. This camera bag may look rather traditional. However, canvas bags today are made with extra protection for your beloved digital camera and support equipments.

Most modern canvas camera bags are made of heavyweight cottons. Some of them have features that moulds around its contents to minimalise internal movement. Moreover, the ergonomically designed ones also fits your body and has a smooth texture. They are also comfortable to carry. The material of canvas camera bags are usually water resistant. In another words, the expensive digital camera and equipments will be protected in most kinds of weather conditions.

Another good point is that some of the cotton canvas camera bags are very discreet and the person looking at it won't even know that it is a camera bag. This is good for the prevention of camera theft.

Much depends on how much equipment you carry as to how big your case or bag needs to be, if you travel very light a small 'snoot' bag will carry your dslr camera and a few other items in the small zipped pouch. However if you are a true blue shutter nut then you will need something far more roomy! I travel on assignment with the battle cry of "it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it" as a result I resemble a packrat at weddings and other shoots, and do people offer to help.........do they heck as like!

So a good case or bag is not a luxury it's a necessity. You might be tempted to buy cheap but you will find yourself back at the shop trading up to a more suitable model before you know it.

What bag suits me?

Bags and cases come in shapes and sizes here are some of the more common designs.

This is a 'snoot' type bag and suits the photographer who carries the basic kit. A DSLR camera with zoom lens and spare batteries, cards and lunch. Great for holidays and days out with the family and will keep your camera safe from most things. You can carry them on aircraft and their easy to get though customs.

This bag is great if you have more than one lens and there is lots of room for all those little accessories that you have to take with you, most pro photographers have at least one of these bags. On location you would put the gear you need in this bag and it sits comfortably on your shoulder at a wedding or other shoot.

For the serious photographer who likes to get out in the outdoors a back pack type bag is a must. both hands free to climb and fight off grizzly bears, tigers,   etc. These bags will carry all the gear you need and a tripod can usually be attached as well.

Hard cases are a must if you traveling or on assignment, they keep very sensitive gear safe during transit. They can be adjusted to take any size or shape of equipment, I never leave home without them.

Look! Rolling cases just make sense! everything you need plus wheels! They are becoming the most popular camera bag and I have one too, so they must be good.

How lucky is this guy?
